Hyundai Motor Continues to Support Football Spirit at UEFA U21 Championship™ 2017

June 16, 2017 - Hyundai Motor will play a key role in the UEFA U21 Championship™ 2017 (June 16 to 30), having delivered 106 cars to assist in the smooth running of the event. As the official partner of the international tournament, Hyundai Motor vehicles will be used to transport national football teams, referees, match officials, delegates and VIP guests across six Polish host cities.
Zbigniew Boniek, President of the Polish Football Association, received the 106 vehicles on behalf of the Championship’s organizers ahead of the first match. Representatives from Hyundai Motor and football governing body UEFA attended a VIP ceremony in which Sukwon Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Poland, handed over the selection of Hyundai i30, i40, Tucson and Santa Fe models.

This is a unique event because we expect to see the most talented young footballers play on a global stage as they dream of becoming football stars of the future. Teams from 12 nations will participate in the U21 EURO, a competition that is held every two years in locations across Europe. Players born on or after 1 January 1994 are be eligible to play in the under-21s’ tournament, an international showcase of young talent before players progress to a senior level.
